Phonics
Denfield Park Primary teaches systematic phonics using Read Write Inc. This provides a structured and systematic approach to teaching literacy and is designed to create fluent readers, confident speakers, and willing writers. It is understood that for children to read successfully, they need to have a strong knowledge of phonics, to recognise graphemes, decoding and blending sounds.
