Welcome Back!

Over the next week we are busy preparing to welcome all of our children back to school. We can’t wait for school to re-start and for the children to return! Denfield will re-open to pupils in Years 1 to 6 on Thursday 3rd September. 1st and 2nd September are INSET days. The arrangements for pupils in Nursery, Reception and the SEND Unit are different and they have been shared with parents separately. As we advised in July a copy of our Risk Assessment is on the website and it can be found in the parent and carer section of the school website: https://www.denfieldparkprimary.co.uk/information-for-parents-and-carers/  The DFE have provided guidance for parents on the Gov.uk website: What parents and carers need to know about early years providers, schools and colleges in the autumn term

We will be posting a video & emailing you a further letter over the next couple of days reminding you of the key things you will need to know. We hope that this will reassure you and your children and answer any questions that you may have.

As you will be aware from our communications in July one of the key factors which needs to be in place are staggered start and finish times. We WILL NEED all parents to stick to these times in order to reduce the number of parents and children on site at any one time. It will work as follows:

  • Pupils with surnames A-G drop off will be at 8.30am collection at 2.45pm
  • Pupils with surnames H-O drop off will be at 8.45am collection at 2. 55pm
  • Pupils with surnames P-Z drop off will be 9am collection 3.05pm
  • Pupils with siblings in Reception can be dropped off at 9.15am & collected at 2.45pm
  • All entrances to the site will be open during these times, the Victoria Road carpark will be closed to vehicle access between 8.30am and 9.30am and from 2.30pm
  • All pupils will enter school via their classroom doors – key staff will be outdoors
  • Only ONE parent will be permitted on site to drop off/collect their child
  • All parents & carers WILL be expected to follow all social distancing requirements when on school grounds, failure to do so may mean you are not allowed onto the school site
  • In school staff will reinforce good hygiene including frequent hand washing and the ‘catch, it, kill it, bin it approach’
  • If your child is unwell, has a temperature or has COVID symptoms parents MUST inform us & not send their child to school
  • If a child is unwell at school, the child will be isolated and parents will be expected to collect their child as soon as possible
  • On the advice of the school, the local authority or Public Health England parents may need to arrange for their child to have a COVID test

Keep an eye on your inbox for a further email & once we have posted the video watch it with your children and spend time preparing them for returning to school on Thursday 3rd September. Everyone is keen for all children to return to school, we all recognise how damaging it has been for children to miss out on school life. We feel confident in our risk assessment and the measures we have put in place to reduce the spread of Covid-19 but we absolutely need your support. We are all part of the Denfield community & we all need to do our bit to keep everyone safe and well and ready to learn.

                  Welcome back to #TeamDenfield!
